the first 2 remasters (TERSE and BARRAGE TAPES) are LIVE from THE PLACE. (previews inside)
THE PLACE is esteemed to announce the roll out of THE ABSOLUTE DARK CRINGE EXTREME RESTORATION INITIATIVE, an affordable collection of subversive kitchen sink narratives, mercifully recovered from the bowels of obscurity.
YOU'RE GOING TO SEE ME ON THE NEWS:
you're going to see me on the news cuffed to a tree under a wasp nest your children are told to stone. gutted with a rake to be lashed with my own bowels. a dune of ocular crust. cloud cover like cable signals that have been scrambled. insisting on camouflage. prying masked in curiosity. collecting blood before it's hard. set body. appointed breaking. invert destiny. remade unnamed.
flicking cigarettes into Styrofoam cup on the floor. rogue ash seers cheek. they call this one "Sectapharm". Usually found in public bathrooms, hunched over its victim. the creature's "wings" are without skeletal structure; a shapeless dual cape. the pink membrane snakes over the floor and crawls up the walls, its crisscrossing varicose illuminating the room with the purple neon of its circulating under-gel. its head resembles an upside-down cup, the facial features bringing to mind the puffy cushions found on inexpensive sofas.
the only known footage of Sectapharm made the rounds of the dubious daytime talkshow circuit sometime in the 1990s. looking to have been shot on grain-dotted 8mm film and dubbed to static-gashed VHS, the tape unfolds as follows; the lavatory inhabitant, picking at the visible bones of multiple nail-spun incisions, its skin-cloak inking up the walls. Gregorian drones and splattering pipe drip score the ambiance, which when overlaid across the tape's woozy imagery, inspire pangs of nausea in the viewer. when the being turns to the camera, revealing its startlingly crude facial features, the score exploded in sheets of omni-aged screams and violent symbol crashes. it wasn't long before the screen cut to black, the image lodging in thoughts, looping like a magnet-degraded freeze-frame.
